Actually come away really positive despite the result, 2s travelled to Anselmians and was always going to be against it with late changes to the team however that’s not an excuse, we was good enough to compete and pressure the home team but it was the home team who opened up the scoring, Wids answered back after a powerful run of play, Jack York crossing over from short range with Andy Clarke converting 7-7.
Despite building pressure at various points through the rest of the half, we couldn’t quite make it stick, Anselmians scored twice more before half time to go in with a score of 21-7

An early penalty in the second half saw Anselmians go for the kick, which brought a few boos and cheers from the Wids, it was a glorious day for running rugby! 24-7
Again, like in the first half wids built good pressure but couldn’t convert to points, some through our own errors and others from defensive pressure, whilst the home team managed to get another to take the game to 31-7 and it’s premature end due to an injury to the referee, without a ref there is no game so as the 60mins minimum time had elapsed the game was called there.

Not the result we wanted and a W would have been good but the effort, commitment and teamship was great today, so it’s a huge positive
