It follows the news that local company Newton Construction chose to offer their support towards the purchase of a brand-new playing kit.
John Newton – who, like his son Henry was also a junior at the club - couldn't resist offering support to the team that he also coaches alongside Head coach Peter Cowan.
Thanking Newton Construction and the other businesses, Peter said “We would like to thank all the sponsors for their offers of support "We have a fantastic group of players here, all of which have shown great commitment to each other and are really enjoying their rugby at the Wids. They are all progressing so well and the new kit completes the hard work put in over the last 12 months to get the team fully established”.
A number of other businesses and organisations are also involved in the sponsorship of the new kit, including; Chestnut Smile Centre, Boydell’s, CG Engineering and Construction Ltd, and Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
Club President Gary Clare, who has been instrumental in helping to revive the fortunes of the Mini & Junior section said “We are delighted to welcome on board a number of sponsors who have come on board to support our Under 10’s.
As a community rugby club, we rely heavily on the generosity of local businesses and individuals for their support in helping us to produce the next generation of players, and for that, we are extremely grateful”.
