The long wait is over. Widnes are back in the Lancashire Junior Cup Finals for the first time in 18 years and this season's U16s hope to become our first winners in twenty years. One omen is good: that last victory took place at the same venue - Red Rocks, the home of West Park St Helens. Having topped their five club Pool and dismissed Preston Grasshoppers in the quarters, a thrilling Heath Road semi-final saw the Wids overturning a 19-0 half time deficit to beat Heaton Moor 31-22. Meanwhile, at Douglas Valley, Wigan were accounting for Ormskirk 39-34. Allen York's match report can be found in the junior team section of this website. Travel and transport arrangements will need to be confirmed. Suffice to say, there will be quite a few veterans thinking back to the turn of the century and the home club will be assuring that they have adequate stocks of refreshment available. Well done to all players, coaches and parents.
