In a frantic opening, Lancashire soon led 14 - nil and continued to be in charge for much of the first hour.

Cheshire, though, never gave up and chipped away to recover and get their noses in front, only to have it snatched from them right at the death by a tremendous, long distance try from the Red Rose outfit.
