Our club, through great work by Sam Cook our treasurer has been successful in being awarded a £50,000 grant via Veolia Environmental Trust Grant Project. This money will pay for a new solar system, replace all light fittings with LED and PIR sensors, and finally much needed improved heating controls in our beer cellar. This grant is conditional and subject to a third-party payment of £5000.
Myself and several senior ex-players truly believe the £5000 can be raised through the ExPlay initiative. If you think of the hundreds if not thousands of ex-players there are scattered around the globe then surely raising £5000 is very doable.
My proposal is that we aim for 100 ex-players to donate £50 each. All donations , big or small will be confidential, but all who donate will receive a mention and listed in the clubhouse. As always contact me for any clarification on 07969 029936, email ivorlewis42@gmail.com

Update 10/4/24

As you know, the club has been awarded a £50,000 grant for energy-saving improvements in our clubhouse. This grant is conditional on a third-party payment of £5,000.
This is where 100 ex-players donating £50 each comes into play.
To date we have raised £1,700 which is superb, but we still have some way to go. Thank you to all who have already donated and let us keep aiming for the £5k

UPDATE 19/4/24

To date, we have raised £2500 towards the £5000 target. The idea was for 100 ex-players to donate £50. Forty people have so far contributed. Hundreds if not thousands have played for our great club. I am hoping for just a small percentage of those ex-players to help us achieve the £5000 target.
