The South Manchester side have been in great form so far this season and currently sit in fourth spot in the table with five wins and three defeats from their eight matches. In their last game, they were beaten 46 - 26 by league leaders Firwood Waterloo.

League games between the pair have generally been few and far between over recent seasons, although they have met in two Cup matches.

During the shortened Covid season, the Wids won 29 - 22 in the Lancashire Cup, and before that Burnage beat the Wids 20pts - 3 in a Trophy game back in 2015.
