Pictured by St Luke's Church, Farnworth, the Strollers completed the first of twelve 2026 Wids Heritage hikes. Full details of these will follow in the next match programme. The old boys taking part yesterday were Ste Morris, Phil Rigby, Aidan "Sam" Molyneux, Martin Griffiths, Phil Mousdale, Ken Bold and John Loughnane. Past President Graham "Crack" Riley supplied energy refreshments (Uncle Joe's Mint Balls) on Liverpool Road while former First Lady Sue Street and her friends provided uplifting entertainment in the Tavern.
Next Saturday, weather permitting, two Past Presidents - Martin Griffiths and John Loughnane - intend walking from Widnes to West Park for the 1st XV's crucial league game. If anyone can offer a lift back to either or both of us, we promise to buy some beer at the club. Failing that, we'll rely on bus passes and Wetherspoons vouchers for an evening in St Helens. Cheers
