Widnes kept up their impressive run of form with a 34pts – nil victory against Bowdon in the Raging Bull Colts League.
In wet and windy conditions, Widnes started the game well and were rewarded when slick passing led to full back Owen scoring a try under the posts which he also converted.
Bowdon then put the Widnes line under pressure but great defence kept the line intact.
Widnes then turned the ball over and moved upfield where Jamie Patient ran a great line to receive the ball and score in the corner. Owen again converted to give his side a 14 – nil half time lead.
Widnes had the wind in the second half and some intelligent kick from Alex Jones kept Bowdon pinned in their half.
The rewards came from another kick and good tackling led to Liam Barlow scoring an unconverted try. Straight from the kick off, Widnes moved the ball well and Rob Cooke scored another five pointer.
Widnes continued to throw the ball about, and some quality handling led to Matty Geraghty scoring in the corner.
Widnes finished off the scoring when Owens with another unconverted try.
Man of the match went to Andy Owens with other stand out performances from Jolley, Will Patient and McGarvey.
