On a glorious sunny afternoon, Widnes started brightly and soon found themselves 12-0 up thanks to tries from Jamie Patient and Will Johnson and a conversion from Andy Owen, whilst Rochdale replied with a converted try and a penalty to keep in touch.
Widnes then turned good possession into points with further tries from Patient and Alan Breeden both goaled by Owen to make the half time score 26-10.
Widnes improved in the second half and took the game away from Rochdale with some great handling leading to further tries from Will Johnson, Andy Owens (2), Tom Whitfield before Rochdale scored a consolation effort late on.
Widnes can look forward to the final in Fleetwood on 30th April against either Manchester or Sefton.
