Widnes RUFC Colts v Vets December 30th 2023

The annual Wids Generation Game fixture dates back to the last century (copied by many, surpassed by none) and provides the perfect passage towards the club's centenary in 2024. Once again, the car park was full, the clubhouse was jam-packed and the back pitch justified time and work put into it over the last decade. Not surprisingly, the weather was squally so there's a combination of raindrops on the video and wind in the audio. The day was summed up perfectly by a gent in a Christmas jumper who said to me "Great night - the best" as I was leaving at 7pm. There were only five more hours to go.
